Asaszi
The Asaszi are vicious snake-like people who warred with the Elviri and Proma in the Eldest Days. It’s believed that the Asaszi were driven to extinction in the early years of the Second Sun.
Barauder
The Barauder live in Balach Yor, the Black Lakes in eastern Daaria. They call themselves the children of the lakes, because rather than being born from the coupling of a male and female, they emerge from the lakes as small children. They worship the lakes, and personify them as their three mothers, and the sea as their father. They are tall, sinewy creatures with dark, mottled skin. They have a pronounced underbite, large fangs, gills, and webbed feet. There are three tribes of Barauder that surround the Black Lakes: Sirh’ah, Y’lah, and Itorh. Every Barauder takes the surname of the lake that they live beside.
Elviri
The Elviri are the most well-known and well-versed race in Daaria. The common language originates from the Elviri language melded with the Proma language. The Elviri calendars are used throughout the lands, and even some of the Elviri festivals are celebrated by other races. The Elviri are definitely the most influential of the races, and their gods have had the biggest presence in this world.
The Elviri are tall, slender, and graceful. They have long pointed ears and live to be hundreds of years old. They are not immortal, and can easily be killed in battle, die from old age, or waste away from disease.
Enthai
The Enthai are a mysterious race living in Na’roc of North. Proma parents tell their children scary stories of bloodthirsty fox-like creatures who wait beyond the Wall to kill any Proma who dares stray into their lands. Men stationed at the Wall will occasionally ride north to hunt the Enthai and bring back their pelts to warm their beds. Not much else is known about these creatures.
Imalarii
The Imalarii are short folk who live in the trees of the Imalarii Wood. When standing beside a Proma or Elviri, an Imalarii will only come up to their waist.
They are master woodworkers and leatherworkers. They also love the arts, and have dedicated guilds created for music, poetry, and storytelling.
Proma
The Proma are very proud, decisive, and sometimes rash. Most will act first, and think later. Proma are the most human-like race in Daaria, and have the shortest lifespan, often only living to 60 or 70. They live around the Hourglass Lakes in Promthus.
Provira
The Provira are the offspring of unions between the Elviri and Proma. These unions are not common occurrences, but have happened often enough during the Second Sun that the race was given its own identity.
Provira can live to be 200 years of age, although with the recent wars and border skirmishes, that number has dropped drastically. Unlike their ancestors, the Provira are not overtly religious and feel no strong ties to the Elviri pantheon or the Proma’s Protector. Instead they lust for knowledge and seek to unravel the mysteries of Daaria, which clashes with the ideals of the Elviri and Proma, and was part of the reason the mixed-bloods were driven out of their lands.
