Daaria: Geography

Daaria is home to several diverse biomes and lands.

The western coast is home to the Elviri and their three provinces – Elimere, Elimaine, and Elifyn. The city-province of Elimere is nestled in a large valley in the Telatorr Mountains. To the south are the expansive woods and forests of Elimere. Elifyn controls a smaller portion of the woods along the southern edge of Daaria.

The Hourglass Lakes dominate Promthus, the center of Daaria, where the Proma make their homes in the farmlands surrounding the lakes. In the middle of the lake is the city-island of Auora, along with Castle Auora where the Proma royal family reside. On the mainland, the Proma have built three major cities near their largest farms to promote trade in the area.

The northern stretch of Daaria is Na’roc of North, a vast desolate tundra that no one dares traverse. A wall spans the only natural access point into Na’roc of North, which the Proma patrol day and night. Proma tell their children scary stories of a group of strange cat-like creatures who live beyond the wall, who will kill and devour anyone who dares encroach on their lands.

To the east of Promthus is the Imalar Woods, a vast forest home to the Imalarii. The shortfolk make their homes in the treetops and facilitate trade between the Elviri and Proma to the west and the swamplands to the east.

The eastern swamplands are home to the Barauder, who call their lands Balach Yor. They’ve built their villages around the shores of the three lakes, and are predominantly a water-based culture.

The southeastern lands of Daaria are dangerous and few travel here. The jungles of Moonyswyn are where the Provira have retreated to in recent years, and from here wage their war against the Proma and Elviri to the north. They’ve made their homes in the ruined pyramids from the Eldest Days.

Far to the southeast are the barren mountainous lands of Kherizhan. Not much is known about this place, for few travel here, and even fewer return to tell the tale. Rumors persist of treasure being buried underneath the mountains, which has drawn several adventuring groups to the lands in recent years…
